How to add cardinal UTXO to an ord wallet so that I can start inscribing?

Just getting started here.I have set up regtest chain on my PC. I have used generatetoaddress to mint coins to normal wallets. But doing that on the ord wallet prevents me from inscribing a file. What can I do to segregate cardinal and ordinal UTXO so that the cardinal amount can pay for the inscription? ord -r wallet inscribe results in error: wallet contains no cardinal utxos
