Description of the issue
Previously, I was using openzfs 2.3. There, when issuing a command
zpool trim tank
the command completes without any errors or warnings, and all the SSDs in the pool tank are trimmed, and the HDDs are ignored.
Now, I updated to openzfs 2.4.0. When I run
zpool trim tank
he tries to trim also the HDDs, which obviously fails, and reports:
cannot trim '/dev/disk/by-id/wwn-0x5000c500dc78fdb1-part1': trim operations are not supported by this device
Trimming still works, and the pool seems to be intact and fine, it is just that now this error appears, whereas previously, devices that do not support TRIM were silently ignored. I wonder, is this changed behaviour a bug or a feature, and why was it changed?
