I would suggest adding another slide after the current ones.

Slides

Other Common Tools

  • RSS (blogs, planets, activity on github)
  • Twitter (pick an example account for a project)
  • Stack Overflow (pick an example project where a maintainer answers questions a lot)
  • Community curated resources (show django-packages https://www.djangopackages.com/grids/g/api/ )

Slide of images

  • maybe an image of the notification screen on github
  • I might show a screen shot of my rss reader showing posts on scipy planet

I've found StackOverflow to be extremely helpful, and some project maintainers are very active there. e.g. Tom Christie, django-rest-framework.

Sometimes the project maintainer doesn't answer the question, but someone in the python community will hop in, nedbat helped me here.

I'd also consider bringing up user groups and events. But that make more sense as content for opportunities.

These are great suggestions, Sheila. You are welcome to add a "Some other tools a project might use" slide or two! If you're not comfy with reveal.js (what the slides are written in) feel free to write up some content that myself or someone else can format.
