Description
With OCNA migration in 2018/2019 a lot of features were requested with were somehow patched into their previous site.
Also, opencaching-pl
project still has some inconsistencies to this day.
History:
- CACHE_TYPE documentation in wiki here at 2019 level
- OKAPI - OCPL: Cache types OCPL: Cache types okapi#594
- New cache types (requested by OCNA) New cache types (requested by OCNA) #860
- CACHE_TYPE_ID changes CACHE_TYPE_ID changes #2024
- GeoPath FINAL cache type GeoPath FINAL cache type #2076
- proposed changes here: andrixnet/okapi@2d868b9
- Cache type changes at OCPL #595
- andrixnet@c166b92
- very important comment Cache type changes (OCNA migration) #2087 (comment)
- at that time there has been discussion with c:geo and Geokrety
The whole COVID crazyness put a crimp into my work ability. I am so sorry. But I am trying to get back in the game.
Recently I've posted an issue at c:geo cgeo/cgeo#16992 about some icons and only later I realized the implications throughout.
The OCNA cache type migration was never finished.
The documentation at wiki.opencaching.eu remained at 2019 level.
The project has evolved but with few significant changes. There is still an organizational and logistc mess in parts.
My work from 2019 has been partially obsoleted and a lot has to be updated with changes since then. And IMO not all that has been done then should go forward as is.
My proposal is as follows:
- no internal ID overlaps with OCDE and documented here
- old podcache, reused ID as geopathfinal;
if this remains as such, must be cleaned up as a new ID and properly documented and deployed.
IMO it could be handled by "unknown" with attribute. - most former cache types from OCNA to become attributes as discussed [here]url(Cache type changes (OCNA migration) #2087 (comment))
- maybe "challenge" to be a special type. I don't see how it could be a tradi, but maybe it warrants more then "unknown"+attrib
- clean up the edit, config, search, export
- sync OKAPI
- coordinate at least with GeoKrety and c:geo to update.
I will try to restart my work, I'll update the docs and specs and coordinate everything. However some of the coding will need help for the more seasoned developers.
