The xterm terminal does not fit to the parent container on load because of the hidden prop used in the tab component for the terminal which initializes the parent component with a width and height of 0, therefore fitaddon does not initialize according to the bounds and only works when switching back and forth to the terminal.

I wasn’t able to replicate the resizing issue you described, it’s possible this was already resolved in a later update. However, while testing I did notice a related behavior: when first switching to the Test Terminal tab after selecting a test type, the initial xterm instance doesn’t render its content until I switch away and back again. At that point, the terminal displays the cd into the chosen application directory.

I wasn’t able to address the original fit to container bug here, but if you can still reproduce it on your end, I’d be happy to dig deeper.
