Relative precedence of "restrictions specific to a path" #298

@HeikoTheissen

Description

@HeikoTheissen

<Annotation Term="Core.LongDescription" String="Restrictions specified on an entity set are valid whether the request is directly to the entity set or through a navigation property bound to that entity set. Services can specify a different set of restrictions specific to a path, in which case the more specific restrictions take precedence." />

What does the phrase "restrictions specific to a path" mean? Paths can occur

  • in an external annotation target of the form ns.container/EntitySet/NavProp1/.../NavPropN
  • in Capabilities.NavigationRestrictions/RestrictedProperties/NavigationProperty
  • in a mixture of both.

What is the relative precedence of restriction annotations that use these ways to specify a path?
