   OData TC Github Issues

   Atomicity requirements and partial execution #2101
   Heiko moves to merge PR Define atomicity #2107 and close the issue as applied. Mike seconds. No objections, motion passes.

   May a service reject a request whose OData-MaxVersion is too low? #2118
   Heiko moves to merge PR OData-MaxVersion is a proactive content negotiation header #2119 and close the issue as applied. Hubert seconds. No objections, motion passes.

   Sharpen definition of Capabilities.FilterExpressionType="SearchExpression" odata-vocabularies#300
   SAP interprets this as "multiple clauses", Heiko will clarify which of and and or are allowed and prepare a pull request.

   How to move from OData V4.0 to V4.01 other than with a big bang? #2116
   TC discusses the issue. Noteworthy points:

   • Mike notes that not all 4.01 features require a 4.01 payload.
   • Christof thinks that implementing 4.01 requires a "big bang" because of dependencies between features.
   • Hubert has a 4.0 service that implements certain 4.01 features, but these features can only occur if the request demands or allows them (like JSON batch). Clients can send such requests with OData-MaxVersion: 4.0 if they have out-of-band knowledge that the service implements these features.
   • As an example of a 4.01 feature that can occur even if not demanded by the request, Heiko mentions the use of exponential notation in responses, which is always allowed in 4.01 (in 4.0 only if the client sets ExponentialDecimals=true).
