GSoC 2026 Participation & Getting Started as a New Contributor

Hi everyone 👋

I’m Sanika Palav, a B.Tech IT student at VESIT, Mumbai. I’ve been exploring the Discover Cookbook and really like the idea of making workflows and examples easier to discover and reuse.

My background:

Programming: Java, Python, C, C++

Web: HTML, CSS, JavaScript

Data & DB: Pandas, SQL

I’m actively learning by doing and have already tried to resolve a couple of issues and contribute to the project. I’d love to continue contributing through small fixes, documentation improvements, or beginner-friendly features, and gradually understand the codebase better.

I wanted to ask:

Are you planning to participate in GSoC 2026?

If yes, is there a recommended starting point for newcomers (good first issues, docs, or contribution guidelines)?

I’m very motivated to learn, contribute consistently, and grow with the community.
