Discourse forum links should be updated #176
Comments
@nrc Mind looking at this? Maybe two new keys for users and internals, and then link "discuss" to internals (as that's what discuss.rust-lang.org redirects to)? |
dup of rust-unofficial/rustaceans-src#19 I'll have a look when I have a minute, shouldn't be hard to fix. |
Is there any plan to merge the user databases between the two, so usernames don't get out of sync? (Why were these split, given that discourse supports multiple forums?) |
@joshtriplett There isn't a plan to merge the two. Here's the original rationale. If by "multiple forums" you mean categories, the reason we didn't see this as a solution I think is because the front page combines all categories, mixing both audiences. |
It does make sense to maintain separate sites. I had the impression that Discourse could do that, and in particular that it could maintain the same user database for both, while keeping the forums separate. That much seems helpful to keep in sync. |
Since discourse.rust-lang.org is now internals.rust-lang and users.rust-lang
