Is there a way to enable face tracking when the camera is set to portrait orientation?

I'm using OBS with the face tracking feature, but I'm encountering issues when setting up my camera in portrait orientation. The face tracking doesn't seem to function correctly in this mode. I've tried rotating the camera, but tracking remains unstable.

How do you set your camera in portrait? What is your camera? Which filter or source type did you use, as this plugin provides 3 types?

I'm having this same issue. Specifically, if my webcam (or phone being used as a webcam source) is sideways with the source rotated in OBS to be vertically aligned, the FaceTracking plugin can't tell it's a face. Is there any way to tell it to detect faces at a 90° angle? If not, is that something that could be possible in the future?

In that case, I recommend to group the webcam source (just one source in the group). Then, apply Face Tracker Filter to the group instead of the webcam source.

Unfortunately that didn't do anything. The filter on the DroidCam source works if I crane my head sideways, but when I apply it to a group, even with only that DroidCam source in it, it doesn't do anything, regardless of my face's position.

I'm sorry that I have no idea why it doesn't work.
Could you enable two check-boxes "Show face detection results" and "Always show information (useful for demo)"?
It might be better to set "Aspect" settings.

I tried checking those; it didn't change the tracker's behaviour (still doesn't work on a group), but it did show 3 different coloured squares when applied to the DroidCam source if I turn my head 90° to align with original camera perspective. Aspect also does nothing when changed on a group, though when used on the DroidCam source, it seems to crop the source to ensure it's that aspect ratio. Is the filter meant to work on a Group? Maybe that's something that could be added more easily than an option that tells the filter to function at an X degree angle?

Edit: One odd quirk I noticed is that when toggling the filter on a group, it very slightly blurs the camera's image. Like toggling it on and off makes it look like it just smudges the source a tiny bit. So I guess it's trying to do something?

Something I forgot to mention is that you need to rotate the source before making the group. So, the step should be like this.

1. Add the source from your camera.
2. Rotate the source
3. Create a group.
4. Apply the filter to the group.

Interesting, I tried making a new group with the source in it from scratch the way you described and it worked. Thanks a lot! Having a group which contained several sources and then removing all but the camera didn't work, so perhaps making it from scratch with only the camera in it was the trick.
