How to make window take up the whole screen (including the gap from the auto-hide menubar)

20 years daily driver of Linux, only reason I've been able to switch to MacOS is aerospace. Thank you so much folks!!

Current setup

• Mac Air M2 13"
• OS fully updated
• Menu bar at the top on auto-hide, this leaves a gap (I believe it's related to the camera notch)

Desired behavior

• Given the small screen, I want windows to take the space where the menu-bar was/is, even when the window isn't in fullscreen

Any tips would be appreciated 🙏
