Long macro not saving

I entered a macro with about 400 symbols, and the keymap editor is not commiting the changes. Is this a zmk limitiation?

If the build is failing that suggests a ZMK limitation, but if it's actually not committing your changes to your GitHub repo that sounds like a failure in the Keymap Editor, possibly relating to the payload size because that does sound like a lot.

I think this is the applicable limitation in ZMK. You can configure that (not through Keymap Editor), I'm not sure if there's a hard cap. I'm also not sure of your specific use case but, personally, I think you might be better served having a macro defined on the OS side triggered via a key combination (or an uncommon key like something from F13-24 which aren't likely to be used by anything else).

The keymap editor said that it can't commit the changes, so i deleted the long macro from the keymap editor. After that I tried to build the firmware, but it failed. I guess that the keymap editor did change something.

i have encountered with this issue, the short term solution that worked for me is to committing the macro by writing the code and pushing to the repo. for the following, it will print 'Lorem ipsum dolo' but i tested it with the exact error you mentioned and, after i pull the changes, i see the macro. and pushing other changes doesn't interfere with anthing (like sending a new commit is blocked etc... everything worked).

from my understanding (can be incorrect, i didn't fiddle a lot), payload limits are around 100kb, when save pipeline exceeds that it fails in the web app, but works from the code.

in api/index.js:
app.use(bodyParser.json({ limit: '2mb' })) this could do the trick, and creating blobs could be the longer term solution.

IMPORTANT: after doing this and getting a successful build, then flashing the keyboard resulted in at some point macro continued to print the same letter continuously. could be my board only, i am not sure.
