Unit tests #571

Hi, I am porting this into Go(yet another one) and I'd like to run basic units tests to know whether the functions produce correct output and I rewrote the code properly. Or to be more precise, whether the produced commands are correct - so comparing input and output. The tests directory seems to just compile the C code in docker but I see no unit tests. Is it fair to assume there are none available?
