User Story
As a researcher, I want the methods section updated to separately describe qualitative and quantitative approaches, include sample size calculation, and provide integration remarks so that the study design is comprehensive and clearly articulated.
Description
The methods section requires a structured update to differentiate between qualitative and quantitative components, incorporate sample size calculation using Kelsey's formula, and explain how both approaches are integrated.
Proposed Flow
-
Qualitative Approach
- Describe study design (e.g., phenomenological, case study).
- Outline data collection methods (e.g., interviews, focus groups, document analysis).
- Define sampling strategy (e.g., purposive, snowball).
- Describe analysis plan (e.g., thematic analysis, coding framework).
-
Quantitative Approach
- Describe study design (e.g., cross-sectional, cohort).
- Outline data collection methods (e.g., surveys, clinical measurements).
- Define sampling strategy (e.g., random, stratified).
- Include sample size calculation using prevalence ratio and Kelsey's formula.
- Describe data analysis plan (e.g., statistical tests, software).
-
Integration Remarks
- Provide rationale for combining qualitative and quantitative methods (mixed-methods approach).
- Explain how findings from qualitative and quantitative components will be triangulated to address research questions.
- Describe how integration informs interpretation, strengthens conclusions, and ensures comprehensive coverage of objectives.

Notes:
- Ensure all methodological details are consistent with study objectives and hypotheses.
- Sample size calculation should clearly state assumptions, prevalence ratios, and alpha/power levels.
- Integration remarks should justify why mixed-methods design is appropriate for this study.
