Install Development Copy

Setup the Development Environment

• Install and setup a Homestead environment.
• Configure your Homestead environment to point mybb2.dev to /home/vagrant/Code/mybb2/public.
• Add mybb2.dev to your machine's /etc/hosts file.

Install a Development Copy of MyBB 2.0

1. Clone the repository under /home/vagrant/Code/ inside the Homestead environment.

   $ git clone [email protected]:mybb/mybb2.git

2. Give write permissions to the storage/ directory.

   $ chmod -R 777 storage/

3. Install Composer dependencies.

   $ composer install

4. Create your environment file and edit it accordingly. In a default Homestead environment you can leave the copy untouched and everything will work right out of the box.

   $ cp .env.example .env
   $ vim .env

5. Install migrations table and run migrations.

   $ php artisan migrate:install
   $ php artisan migrate
