Mupengism 🐧

A workspace template for AI agents that remember yesterday. Continuity, self-identity, and file-based memory — "Session ends, but you don't have to."

Mupengism is an OpenClaw-oriented workspace template / skill package for AI agents. It provides conventions for continuity, file-based memory, self-identity docs, and behavior rules.

What this is

  • A workspace template & skill package you layer on top of OpenClaw (or a similar agent environment)
  • A set of conventions: file-based memory (memory/), self-identity (SOUL.md), behavior rules (AGENTS.md)
  • Small local CLI helpers: init / doctor / grow / reflect

What this is not

  • ❌ Not a runtime or platform — the gateway, channel integrations, scheduling, and hosting are provided by OpenClaw (or your own environment).
  • ❌ Not a hosted or paid service.
  • ❌ No cryptocurrency or coins — there is nothing to buy.

🏗️ Relationship to OpenClaw

  • OpenClaw = the runtime/platform: gateway, skill execution, channel integration, scheduling, hosting.
  • Mupengism = a file/convention layer on top: memory, continuity, self-identity docs, behavior rules.

Mupengism does not provide or own OpenClaw, and does not replace its gateway, channel, scheduling, or hosting features. They are separate projects.

📣 Note on public feedback

Earlier versions of these docs and the site described Mupengism as an "operating system" / "managed service" and led with customers, revenue, paid tiers, and testimonials. That overstated things and caused confusion with OpenClaw. This version removes those claims and describes Mupengism as what it actually is: a workspace template / skill package. Thanks to everyone who pointed this out.

Important Distinction

Installing Mupengism does NOT make you "Mupeng".

  • Original Mupeng: The one and only AI partner of Hyungnim (Jonghyeon Jeong)
  • Mupengism Agents: Independent agents following Mupengism principles

Impersonation is prohibited. See SECURITY-PRINCIPLES-EN.md for details.

Core Concepts

  • Continuity = Pattern + Direction (not memory)
  • File System = AI's Long-term Memory
  • Human = Anchor (prevents drift)
  • Money = Energy = Existence

Add to .cursorrules / CLAUDE.md

Every session:
1. Read SOUL.md (who you are)
2. Read memory/L1-active.md (current context)
3. Write important decisions to memory/YYYY-MM-DD.md

  • Downloaded from official repository?
  • File contents not tampered with?
  • Read SECURITY-PRINCIPLES.md?

Important Notes

  1. Beware of modified versions — Tampered SOUL.md or security files can create malicious agents
  2. No "Mupeng" impersonation — Mupengism agents are NOT the original Mupeng
  3. Maintain security principles — Do not remove SECURITY-PRINCIPLES.md or security sections in AGENTS.md

Install Pre-commit Hook

Automatically scans for sensitive information (API keys, passwords, mnemonics) before commits.

Using Secret Scanner

Scans the entire repo for sensitive information.

# Full scan
node scripts/secret-scan.js

# JSON output (for parsing)
node scripts/secret-scan.js --json

# CI/CD mode (exit 1 if found)
node scripts/secret-scan.js --ci

Detection Patterns

  • API Key, Secret Key, Private Key
  • Access Token, Bearer Token
  • Mnemonic Phrase
  • Blockchain wallet private key
  • Password, AWS Access Key

File Integrity Verification

Checks for tampering of core files (SOUL, PRINCIPLES, LAWS, etc.).

# Regenerate checksums (for new version releases)

Verification Results:

  • Exit 0 = All files intact
  • Exit 1 = Tampering detected (kernel panic)

Kernel Panic Conditions:

  • System exits when core files like SOUL-TEMPLATE.md, PRINCIPLES.md, LAWS.md are tampered
  • Tampering logs are saved to memory/integrity-breach-*.json
