it is a wsl install .. the rest installed all fine except for whiser.. i did clone and make whisper but that didn't resolve the issue

Can you run voicemode version please?

I reinstalled VoiceMode with uvx voice-mode-install and then ran voicemode whisper install on WSL Ubuntu (Windows 11, ubuntu 24.04)

Claude is experiencing failures (rate exceeded). I could not log in.

I'm seeing the same issue as @mhensen, running version 6.0.5 of voicemode on WSL Ubuntu (Windows 11, ubuntu 22.04)

which pkg-config

2. Install deps:

sudo apt install cmake gcc g++ make libsdl2-dev portaudio19-dev libasound2-dev git

3. Install whisper

I have limited access to WSL (employer managed device).

Could you perhaps clone mbailey/voicemode and ask Claude to investigate?

Claude should find and use .mcp.json and load the cloned version.

Claude can run it, examine the output and review your system and the source to identify the problem.

I'm seeing the same behavior - do you happen to have any suggestions? I've tried voice-mode 6.2 and 7.0, on WSL as well. I've installed all the required dependencies, but I am getting the same error. Could we get this better instrumented so it's clearer what's going on?

VoiceMode is a tool that has transformed how I live.

It's unchained me from the desk. I can work with Claude as a thinking partner, problem solver, coding assistant while in the shower, walking the dog, driving, cleaning the house.

I think I might add crash reporting and analytics to assist me with investigating usage.

WSL isn't a priority for me - I rarely use VoiceMode on it. If someone from the WSL community wants to dig into this, Claude can definitely help you debug and fix it. I'm happy to review any PRs that come through to fix bugs.
