[Bug] UX/Usability issue with date comparison (week against custom date range)

Hi team,
When you want to compare a week period with a custom date range, it appears that the selection of the custom date range can only be made by inserting the dates within the fields, not by using the calendar. As a result, users are in fact using the calendar, which is making weeks compared to weeks and not fitting end user expectations.
By the way, the error message displayed when the combination is not right, make end user think that the comparison between week and custom date range is not possible, whereas it is.

Solution suggested:
If the end user click on the start date input field, then, they should have the possibility to select the starting date within the calendar, then the ending date.

Thanks for creating this report. The date comparison feature could indeed be improved a bit.

I confirm this behavior. To reproduce:

In the Matomo interface, from the top tab date selector:

1. choose any date
2. choose Compare to: ✔️
3. click on a date in the calendar
4. receive a red alert modal:
   Date format must be: YYYY-MM-DD, or 'today' or 'yesterday' or any keyword supported by the strtotime function (see http://php.net/strtotime for more information): false

Today we had one user report this as an error.

Today we had another user report this error. Can be searched, email subject line is Error in report for a date range

We configured a report with metrics, Selected date range from time filter.
After this we wanted to preview the report so we clicked on "download" but we are seeing the following error: "Date format must be xxxx-xx-xx or yesterday or today..."
