Problem description

The mod works mostly well, but the fact that it uses the default animation for sliding down kinda kills the immersion.

Proposed solution

Well, replacing the default animation with something that makes more sense, like having the player use both hands to hold onto the rope. It would probably be one animation for horizontal movement, and another for vertical movement.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion, I'm actually already working on custom animations for climbing the ropes, so hopefully within the next few days, I will have them ready 😄

Update on this: the custom climbing animations are partially done, and will be introduced in v2.0.0.

There are now dedicated animations for climbing up, descending, sliding, and idling on a rope, built with KosmX's Player Animator. The player model also rotates to line up with the rope's angle, so it reads as actually gripping the rope rather than using the default pose.

The part still in progress is more horizontal ropes. Vertical and steep ropes work well, but I have not yet figured out the right thresholds for handling flatter ropes, so for now those still fall back to the default pose. I would rather get that right than ship something that looks off.

I am keeping this issue open until I have resolved the horizontal ropes too.
