Why does Office need reactivation every 180 days

So hi, I am a fan of your program, but I was wondering: how come you have to reactivate Office every 180 days although windows activation is permanent? Anyone know enough about how this works to explain it to me?

Activating office requires a KMS server, and KMS servers can only activate for 180 days at a time. Windows can be activated with HWID, which has no expiration and stores the digital license in Microsoft's servers.

Office needs orginal product key which is verified regularly on the office servers on contrary to Windows activation which uses offline certificates for verification but still you need to connect it once to the internet first time you activate your product.

No. It's how KMS activation works, it needs to be connected to the KMS server at least once in 180 days.
For non-KMS activation, it's just that we know ways how to get it for Windows but don't know a way for Office,
