Is it obvious that the first post is a post?

No, it's not very obvious, some options I can think of are:

• replace the date tag with a "feat" (or something similar) tag
• add a "featured post" title above it, centered. Maybe in this case we would change the format of the date to make it less obtrusive

I prefer the second option personally, it seems more obvious and clear on first glance. Is there anyways you can make a quick mock-up?

If you guys feel that it's obvious enough then I don't think we need to spend any more time on this. I personally really like it and I was simply wondering how does it feel to a newcomer.

If we're happy with what we have now, we can keep those options in mind for a future restyling.

I like this idea. The first option is my favourite, which basically retains the current styling and just replaces the date with the "latest post" text.
