Expand selection from centre: allow disabling or remapping

My common workflow (whether in Tiled or GIMP) is "select area with mouse, copy with Cmd+C". With expand from centre, that results in copying the wrong area, probably about 30% of the time – because I just happened to hit the Cmd key before I released the mouse button.

I would very much like an option to either disable this or change the keybinding.

Just wondering, but do you have the same problem in GIMP, or did you reconfigure this keybinding there? Cause it seems to behave the same way?

Yes, I have the same problem in GIMP. I didn't see a way to reconfigure those keybindings in GIMP.
