It would be nice if you provided command line API compatibility with nm. I am not suggesting that you should remove the current API or that nm's API is in any way Superior. However, if you had full compatibility with nm you could do provide a secondary wrapper, similar to what postfix does with sendmail. Then package management systems could offer rdr as a replacement for nm.
