How to make redirect Audio on Connect/Disconnect work?

I have a Arctis Nova 5 and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I enabled "Redirect Audio on Connect" and "Redirect Audio on Disconnect" but whenever I connect/disconnect (by turning it off, the dongle is still connected and detected by the system) my headset, I still have to open the Arctis Sound Manager to change the output from Gaming (headset) to Output (HDMI device).

Correct me if I'm wrong but I was expecting it to automatically switch output to the HDMI device whenever the headset is turned off and switch automatically to the headset when when it is turned on.

I updated to the latest version but it is still not working for me. I'm not sure what I'm doing differently.
