Hey @punkish - sorry for the late reply. You are right to checkup on this topic. I had decided to jump in and start up on my own. The effort there has taken a lot of my time over the past few months. As a consequence I have been unable to give this project the time it needed.

I intend to spend some time going through the project going forward. I am not sure how much time that will be, but I will be looking through the top issues and features. I am looking for more maintainers for this project and in the meantime.

There is also the viewpoint I have around traditional RAG being outdated and a need for something better. As such, I am thinking of pivoting this project to add support for GraphRAG, MCP over data and other ways to integrate enterprise and closed data sources into LLMs. I have no timeline for this but would like to hear your thoughts on that.

Thanks for your detailed and candid response. I can imagine this project is probably too much for one person to pull off. In my (pedestrian) view, it tries to do too much, trying to accommodate all kinds of databases, models, etc. It will always continue to be affected by scope-creep.

I learned a lot by trying out what you made, and by studying the code. But, eventually, I just moved away to something much simpler, and in my control. I can't depend upon a project led by someone else and be subject to its priorities and delays.

I am now using SQLite, Ollama and langchain to work on a simple application that does something limited but useful to me.

Good luck with your new pivot. I know nothing about that so I can't really offer any useful thoughts.
