This is indeed a useful feature, it has been requested in #900 and have related WIP PRs in #901 & #913

Meanwhile, you may want to use the command menu (Ctrl/Cmd + K). Maybe I need to draw more attention to the command menu, it can be quite useful.

I have a problem with the (ctrl shift K) shortcut. And that it is the same Monaco shortcut for killing the line of text

That's my fault. I listen for ctrl+k to open the menu, I should ignore it if shift is also pressed.

I can close this issue and open a bug with that issue instead if you think the ctrl K menu is a good enough alternative

I think the command menu can be a temporary alternative till #901 is ready.
