File transfer freezes the entire system

Bug description

During the file copy the entire system freeze and the pc is unusable. The mouse is not moving and HDD activity led is off.

Steps to reproduce

Copying 30.000 files folder (2.7Gb) containing a Unity 3D project files from external LaCie usb3 NTFS drive into the OS drive Sata3 SSD home folder. During the process I do not use any other software. After 65% of copying the system freeze completely. Is not responsive.

Expected behavior

I expect nemo carry out the folder copy and let me work with them.

Additional information

I noticed the same kind of behaviour while copying a folder with a sequence of png/exr files to be used for a VFX project. Doesn’t matter what type of drive is, new or old. When the folder is huge and contains a lot of files nemo can’t handle a full copy
