Does it work without NVIDIA GPU? I'm trying to add it as extension and I had error due to missing git for windows, then another error related to missing Desktop development with C++, and I wonder if I install everything I will be able to use it at least on CPU or better on AMD GPU

Hi @piter-pit : I would not expect this extension to work reliably without an NVIDIA CUDA GPU today.
Git for Windows and “Desktop development with C++” are real prerequisites: Git is needed to fetch the upstream Hunyuan3D-2 code, and the C++ build tools are needed to compile native components such as the custom rasterizer used by the texture pipeline.
However, installing those tools will not add AMD GPU support. The current setup is CUDA/NVIDIA-oriented: it selects PyTorch CUDA wheels based on NVIDIA compute capability, uses CUDA-related dependencies, and builds CUDA/native components.
There may be some CPU fallback paths for shape generation, but I would treat CPU as experimental/unsupported and likely very slow. Texture generation is expected to require the CUDA/native rasterizer path.
So for now, the safe supported target is NVIDIA CUDA. AMD GPU support would require a separate DirectML/ROCm port and testing.
