My pi4 8go had a kernel problem, I didn't save the channel.backup file but I have the seed phrase.
I cleaned(all) my hdd and reinstalled lnd v17 and btc core v25.1, and I managed to recover my on-chain funds quickly and easily.

However, I don't dare to do anything to recover the off-chain funds. I have 3 channels still visible on 1ml and I would like to recover the funds.
I don't quite understand how to create a fake backup file.

You can use whatever chain backend you have available. If you have a fully synced bitcoind, that's probably the fastest when doing any wallet re-scans. But if you don't have bitcoind, setting up neutrino is quicker to get it up and running but will take more time during the wallet re-scan part of the recovery process.

I managed to install chantools and your LND version (V16), I recovered rootkey and I was able to create fakechanbackup quite easily, thank you.
I'm now waiting for lnd to synchronize (height 762030) it will take a bit long I think, I have a pi4 with a good old Barracuda green 2to hdd.

Also the other node has forced the closure, I wait for the transaction to be confirmed to try to recover the private key with rescueclosed.

No, that is only needed for really old channels (from 2018). And the medium post is also from then.
If you mentioned you had a way to contact your peers and ask them to close the channels manually you could've saved yourself some work...

The command you posted looks good. Make sure you specify an address from your wallet in --sweepaddr. Also, you might want to bump the --feerate a bit as well, see https://mempool.space/.
If you specify --rootkey the command will not ask you for the seed. So either do that or just type the seed when asked.

No, for any channels created after 2018/2019 you don't need the commit point. Just run chantools sweepremoteclosed the same way you did before, which should pick up the outputs of the force close transactions (they need to confirm first though! that might be the tricky part with the current fee situation).
