Latest tag of Liferay Portal Image is based on a EOL Ubuntu version

Hi,

As I can see from the dockerhub page, the latest tag is 7.4.3.132-ga132. This tag is based on the following Ubuntu versiom:

UBUNTU_CODENAME=oracular
LOGO=ubuntu-logo

Such version reached EOL on July 2025, as stated here.

This results in all kinds of inconveniencies, including security concerns and the unability to download new packages from the default repositories. The latter problem has a workaround described here.

I'd like to kindly ask to upgrade to the latest LTS Ubuntu version.

Hi @Torkin1, the latest Ubuntu LTS version is 24.04.3 LTS (Noble Numbat), a version before Oracular, and the next Ubuntu LTS version will probably be launched on April 2026. Therefore, for now, the best alternative would be to upgrade to Ubuntu 25.04 (Plucky Puffin) since this is latest Ubuntu version tested on Liferay's end.
