Which project to use?

emagick currently has limited command support (mostly conversion stuff), but it looks well-designed.
erl_img interesting; might have most of the needed functionality ... but old/still supported?
erl_gm doesn't look very robust (e.g., what does it do if a node crashes?)
eim is ImageMagick only?

Maybe do a one-off that uses erlexec (for clean shutdown of the gm/im process)? Or do a quick spike, and see if it can be integrated into emagick?
