Alternative to 'pattern' package for Python 3+ users? #4

I made a few changes to get this to run on Python 3.5, but hit a wall with the pattern package, which does not support Python 3+ yet.

Can anyone suggest an alternative to 'pattern'? Then again, is the Google search really necessary?
