ENH: add support for logical slab selection #692
Description
GasField.radial_average_interval contains the embryo of a much more general feature with I'd call 'logical slab' selection:
the ability to select a subset of a field based on boundaries along one or more axes of the geometry. The data selected always corresponds to a slab in the appropriate geometry, hence the name.
