Some updates, backup calling maybe deliberately made a former AMR-WB call into EVS-SW. So the issue is dual-channel data, dual SIM is needed to enable EVS. |

As you know, VoLTE is just a wider capacity and still uses UMTS/HSPA amr-wb as a codec. So max bitrade is 23 something and it's not consistent between carrier, there is no net neutrality in calling bitrate. There is a solution but evs is behind a patent. Carrier do have a encoder and decoder serverside but handsets makers dont pay the license which I agree but it sucks that we don't have better calling experience. There is a hack but it's very risky and the "Dev" stopped answering questions (it's Qualcomm exclusive hack)
With some detective work, the issue is the telephony package and amr is prioritized. Is there anyway to mod for a solution, because using the same quality as 3G is not showing any value of 4G calling.
