I am thrilled to nominate @neoaggelos as the v1.33 Emeritus Advisor. You succeeded me as the release lead, and I'm honored to have you succeed me as EA as well. Thank you for all of your hard work!

Congrats to the whole 1.32 release team for their immaculate work, and especially @fsmunoz, @katcosgrove and @gracenng for your continuous efforts!

It's a pleasure and an honor to be back in the team as EA for the 1.33 release! <3

Like Janus has two faces, so is the the assembly of a new team an opportunity to look at the past and the future: I still find it strange to think that 1.32 has ended, and even stranger that I was the Release Lead.

To everyone in the Kubernetes v1.32 Release Team @kubernetes/release-team that made it possible, my heartfelt thank you. To @neoaggelos for nominating me and helping me as a Release Lead shadow (and beyond). To @gracenng for the constant availability and knowledge of the release process. To @katcosgrove for being the reason I even started, and all the support since, not the least as an amazing EA this release.

All the Release Lead Shadows I had could - and can - be release leads. They helped me immensely, and I'll be forever in their debt for the great work they did, and will do. That said, I'm very happy to nominate @npolshakova as the Kubernetes v1.33 Release Lead; Nina has been on the Release Team since v1.27, in different roles, and has consistently been a great contributor and a reference for us. I have no doubt that she will lead the v1.33 Release Team to an unavoidable success.

Being part of the Kubernetes 1.32 Release Team has been an great journey! πŸ₯³ πŸš€

Serving as the Release Notes Lead this cycle has been a true privilege, and I was fortunate to work alongside an amazing shadow team. Huge thanks to @rayandas , @cloudmelon, @lavishpal , @karenhchu , and @jefftrojan for your dedication, hard work, and commitment to ensuring all the Release Notes PRs were completed on time.

I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to @npolshakova , @katcosgrove, @fsmunoz and @gracenng for their support and guidance throughout this release cycle. A big shout-out to the former Release Notes Lead, @npolshakova , for mentoring me during the 1.31 release and helping me transition into this role.

I’m excited to nominate @rayandas as the Release Notes + docs Lead for v1.33! Rayan has been an integral part of the release notes team since 1.31, consistently delivering exceptional workβ€”whether it’s drafting early release notes PRs, troubleshooting krel issues, or supporting fellow team members and being available.

And a big congratulations to @npolshakova for the release lead role. 🍾

It's sorta difficult to find words expressing how much I enjoyed being part of the release team once again but I'll try.

Being a lead of the Comms team, especially after a wonderful one like @a-mccarthy, has been a challenging but very rewarding and my deepest gratitude goes to the Comms Shadows: @rashansmith @edithturn @wrkode and @rytswd.
You all did great and I couldn't have been happier than this about the work we've done on the blogs side.
Rashan is a guarantee of quality and delivered every single task in time, I find her extreme reliability a fundamental perk to have on any team.
Edith made huge steps forward since last release and kept up with curiosity to learn more about the Comms processes and passion for all the release areas, which is are invaluable qualities to have in a team.
William, a new addition to the release team, demonstrated that new contributors are much needed in any team as they bring a lot of value, experience and fresh perspective that constantly help shape the next releases to be even more welcoming for newcomers.
Last but not least, Ryota (@rytswd), whom I'm happy to nominate as the next Comms lead.
Despite being a new team member he demonstrated great initiative, technical expertise and extreme human empathy which are only part of the great qualities that make Ryota more than deserving to be a leader, in and out of the release.

A special mention goes to @sreeram-venkitesh for the comms health checks, thank you so much for your help.
I had a great time, with some of you in person at KubeCon NA in SLC, in particular @drewhagen @Vyom-Yadav @npolshakova (congrats btw, well deserved!!) @spurin and more, thank you all for that.

In the end I wish to extend my gratitude to all the Leads, release team members and SIGs alike, for the amazing work done for 1.32.
I'm looking forward to what this amazing community can achieve in 1.33 and beyond.

Shoutout to @gracenng @katcosgrove and our lead @fsmunoz, no question was unanswered and I really enjoyed working closely with y'all.

It's time for me to take a small break (and update the Comms handbook), see you around!

Serving on the Kubernetes 1.32 Release Team has been an amazing experience! πŸ₯³ πŸš€

This cycle, I had the honor of being a Release Lead Shadow, and it’s been such a rewarding journey. I still remember starting as a brand-new Enhancements shadow for 1.27 under @marosset, feeling like I had so much to learnβ€”not imagining that one day I’d be nominated to lead a release myself.

Each cycle has taught me so much, and this one was no exception. Huge thanks to @fsmunoz for his fantastic leadership in 1.32 and for the confidence he’s shown in meβ€”I’ll do my very best to live up to it!

I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little nervous about stepping into the Release Lead role, but when I look around at the incredible people in this community, I know we’ve got this!

Congrats to everyone on the v1.32 release! πŸŽ‰

Hey everyone, this release was awesome! Such a great group of leads, release lead shadows, subteam shadows, and contributors from the community. This is my third release on the release team and it's safe to say that this one was the smoothest yet.

Thanks @fsmunoz for being a fantastic release lead and mentor to all of us. Thank you also to @gracenng and @katcosgrove for continuing to tend to this process release cycle after release cycle.

Thanks to @jenshu, @shecodesmagic and @dipesh-rawat for their hard work this cycle. Our team was small but mighty and they continually showed up, took on extra work and learned everything they could about the release process.

I'm really excited to nominate @dipesh-rawat as our next enhancements lead for 1.33! Dipesh is an exemplary contributor to sig-release, and will be a fantastic enhancements lead for the next release. Dipesh is detail-oriented, manages time effectively, and continually goes above and beyond to help others and get things done.

I'm taking the next release cycle off, so I'll be seeing you all around... after I finish my handbook updates, of course ;)

As the outgoing Release Signal Lead for Kubernetes 1.32, I’d like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the incredible team I had the privilege of working with this cycle. Each of you brought dedication, creativity, and collaboration, making this release cycle not only smooth but also deeply rewarding. I’d like to take a moment to celebrate the amazing contributions from everyone on the team.

Shoutouts to the Team:
β€’ @knabben Your active participation, especially in EMEA meetings, and your representation of SIG Windows as a Tech Lead, were invaluable. I deeply admire your proactive approach to reducing toil, including building a Go prototype for automating the hunt for flakesβ€”an inspiring step toward innovating the Release Signal process. Thank you for your consistent updates and forward-thinking ideas!
β€’ @tico88612 Joining SIG Release for your first cycle is no small feat, but you embraced it with incredible engagement and quick learning. Your support in monitoring test grids, managing flakes, and coordinating bugs was seamless. It was a joy meeting you at KubeCon and seeing your enthusiasm (and enjoying the sweets you brought!). Your dedication truly stood out, and I hope to see you join future cycles!
β€’ @Vyom-Yadav your support and guidance were nothing short of instrumental. Coming into this role, I leaned heavily on your expertise, and your wisdom and stoicism grounded the team. I’ll always cherish our time at KubeCon: riding scooters, sharing laughs, and reflecting on our journeys in open source. Your humor, commitment, and insight made this cycle unforgettable, and I hope to see you leading even bigger initiatives in the future!
β€’ @SimonBaeumer Simon, I’m so grateful for your willingness to step in and help during the second half of the cycle. Despite onboarding delays, you jumped in with such dedication and quickly made an impact, from tackling flakes to providing No-Go status updates. Your hard work didn’t go unnoticed, and I hope you’ll continue contributing to SIG Release. You have so much to offer!

Release Signal Lead Nomination:

I am thrilled to nominate @wendy-ha18 as the Release Signal Lead for Kubernetes 1.33! Wendy’s leadership, empathy, and initiative shone brightly throughout the 1.32 cycle. Her thoughtful feedback (such as on Vyom’s one-pager) and ability to guide the team in challenging moments were key to our success. Wendy has demonstrated the care, skill, and vision necessary to lead this team to even greater success. Congratulations, Wendyβ€”I’m excited to see your continued impact!

Special Thanks:
β€’ To @fsmunoz - Your leadership and guidance were invaluable this cycle. Thank you for holding us accountable, meeting with the team to provide support, and ensuring we stayed on track. Your steady presence and encouragement made a significant difference, and we all appreciated your dedication to making this a successful release.
β€’ To @katcosgrove and @gracenng - Thank you both for all of your support these cycles. Your continued contributions and collaboration help keep everything running smoothly, and your efforts do not go unnoticed. I truly appreciate the time and energy you devote to ensuring the success of these teams and the releases as a whole.
β€’ To @mbianchidev - It was fantastic to meet you at KubeCon this year! I appreciated our conversations. In particular, I'm often reflecting on the words of wisdom and support that you've shared, and I'm inspired by your dedicated engagement within the community. I look forward to seeing you again in the future and also witnessing the great work you’ll continue contributing to SIG Release and Kubernetes as a whole!
β€’ To @npolshakova - congrats on the nomination to lead the Kubernetes 1.33 release! It was wonderful connecting with you at KubeCon, and I’m so excited to see the incredible leadership you’ll bring to the next cycle. Wishing you the best for 1.33!
β€’ To @Princesso - Working with you over the past four cycles has been such a pleasure. Transitioning to Release Signal from Docs is no small leap, and you navigated it with grace and commitment. While life can make open-source contributions challenging, I hope you know how much we appreciated your presence and efforts. I believe SIG Release would welcome you back warmly, and I would be delighted to collaborate with you again!

Closing Thoughts:

What made this team so special was not just the results we delivered, but the support and camaraderie we shared. Everyone’s hard work, humor, and dedication created an environment where learning and growth thrived. I hope to see many of you continue contributing to SIG Release. You have incredible potential to shape its future!

Thank you all for making this cycle unforgettable. Here’s to a smooth and successful 1.33 release, with Wendy at the helm as Release Signal Lead! πŸŽ‰

Hi folks! I'm a little late to the party, but big big congratulations to everyone who was part of the release and everyone who helped along the way!

It was an honor working with @fsmunoz and my amazing co-shadows @npolshakova @salehsedghpour and @Vyom-Yadav. It has been an great year and I'm glad I got to work with all of you over the past four release cycles in different roles. I've learnt a lot from every single one of you (Nina and Mohammad even more since I was an enhancements shadow in both of their teams) and I really look forward to a great 2025 where I get to work with all of you again - in the release team and in other parts of the project as well!

I want to take this opportunity to give a big thanks and shoutout to @Priyankasaggu11929 for mentoring and guiding me throughout my time in the release team and even outside throughout my contributor journey. Thank you for everything you've done for me and for the release team!

@npolshakova Congratulations on becoming the release lead for v1.33! You selecting me for your enhancements team for v1.29 was the one reason I was able to contribute so much to Kubernetes! Thanks for believing in me and taking a chance on me!

@fsmunoz Thanks for all your work for v1.32. I really love the effort and thought you put into the theme and logo, Penelope. Its is very apt for the 10th year of Kubernetes. I feel like I really got to know you closely over the course of this release cycle πŸ˜„ I look forward to work with you more in SIG Contribex Comms as well 😁

Shoutout to all the other leads: @tjons @satyampsoni @chanieljdan @drewhagen @mbianchidev. Its been fun working with y'all this release.

@chanieljdan: I had a great time working with you and the docs team! Thanks for all your work and I hope we get to work together again!

@drewhagen: I've been seeing you in the community as long as I can remember πŸ˜„ I really loved reading your wholesome message above. I felt really happy reading it!

@rayandas: Congratulations on being nominated as the upcoming Docs + Release Notes lead! You deserve it! I look forward to working with you again 🀩

@wendy-ha18: Congratulations Wendy for being nominated as the next Release Signal lead! You totally deserve it! You've been doing amazing work from the past couple of release cycles. One thing I've really liked about you is that you ask a lot of questions in the meetings and seeing this made me feel more comfortable asking questions myself. Thank you for everything you do for the project.

I hope everyone everyone has a great holiday season! Let's all rest and recharge and come back next year for another great release cycle! β™₯️

Let's all rest and recharge and come back next year for another great release cycle! β™₯️

Hi folks,

Congrats to all of the v1.32 Release team for the smooth release! πŸŽ‰

Joining the release team for the first time was initially nerve-wracking and a bit intimidating. However, thanks to the fantastic onboarding and guidance from @katcosgrove and @gracenng, I soon discovered the incredible teams and individuals working behind the scenes to make the Kubernetes release journey welcoming, engaging, and enjoyable. @fsmunoz, with his transparency and genuine care, was an exceptional leader, and I cherished every moment of this experience. Thank you all for your incredible support throughout the release!

Working with the Comms team, @edithturn, @rashansmith, @wrkode, and @mbianchidev, was an absolute pleasure. I learned so much from each and every one of you!
I do have to give a special mention to @mbianchidev. You led the team through the journey of bringing up new members including myself, providing all the clarity and transparency, and being always available to cover and support in case of any urgent matters. You mentioned how the Comms processes and structures have had various improvements over the previous cycles, and I could see it firsthand how you took us even further with your skillful fine-tuning. It is truly inspiring to work with such a great leader, and if it weren't with you, the whole experience would have not been the same. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

There are many others I have interacted over meetings and issues, and I would like to thank everyone for their support πŸ™‚

Last but not least, it is such an honour to be nominated for the Comms lead role for v1.33 release, and I am extremely excited for another journey ahead! While it will be a massive ask to cover what Matteo has done, I will do my best to carry the great legacy the Comms team have built, and continue to contribute to the Kubernetes community!
