<!-- ~/fonts.conf for per-user font configuration
Kris R. Pritchard 14 Apr 2012
After an entire day of reading all known documentation on the subject,
I've finally been able to find a decent Monaco configuration.
Now to configure Inconsolata etc.
TODO: Spacing in non-urxvt terminals will still be too large.
Call with urxvt -letsp -1 -geometry 100x40 -fn "xft:Monaco:pixelsize=11" -sh 30
See fonts-conf(5) for ugly and hard to interpret info.
Search in /etc/fonts/conf.avail/ for equally arcane examples.
Find list with: fc-list | sed 's,:.*,,' | sort -u | less
Interestingly, Termsyn looks kinda cool emboldened, very old school.
URxvt can immediately detect changes in .fonts.conf without restarting X.
gvim seems to disable antialiasing for some parts of colorschemes, making it ugly.
It must use its own separate engine (part of GTK) which controls this.
Need to disallow it from emboldening and aliasing the fonts.
Envy Code R also looks quite nice, although needs -1 letterspacing too.
Fonts can take decimal sizes, i.e. 11.5, 12.5 etc.
Some bugs still exist with Inconsolata, i.e. 'wget' autocompleted in zsh changes shape when changed to 'wge'.
Installed infinality and fontconfig-infinality from AUR. Fonts are ugly again until recustomized.
Programs appear to load fontconfig settings whenever they start though, as opposed to when X starts.
