i need help with opening file urls on mac

hello,

a bit embarrassing, but i think i might have misconfigured my macOS system somehow:

if i want to open files with kitty, e.g. with:

kitty +open file:///Users/kodi/.config/kitty/kitty.conf

i get an error like this:

Failed to launch child: /Users/kode/s/kakao/kakao.app/bin/ked

note that my home directory is /Users/kodi, not /Users/kode

any help pointing out where i could have misconfigured that wrong path would be highly appreciated!
