Surface width and height must be non-zero

I think i know why the error is showing but i can't seem to fix it, or at least i don't know how.
The error is set off when i'm minimizing the window in any way.
I think it's the event loop not allowing for sizes of 0 when looking for Surface width and height to draw but how can i prevent that, i'm a bit stumped here.

That backtrace is not very useful. Is this is a debug build?

It may also be useful to enable logging (e.g. set RUST_LOG=kas=debug).

The surface gets destroyed on "suspend"; it may be that a resize event is received first?

It's a release build.
I will try with the RUST_LOG you mentioned

Which version of kas are you using?

There may be fixes in the master branch. I think there will be more changes when winit finally puts out a new release; there seem to be a lot of changes waiting there.

I'm using the version 0.16.1, i was using version 0.16 saw a version 0.16.1 and tested it but didn't fix the issue, that's why i'm here

It seems that winit sends WindowEvent::Resized before calling suspend when an application is minimized on Windows.

Thanks for the report. I submitted a fix upstream (winit).

If you want to help with that, you could:

• check out Windows: retain PhysicalSize of surface to avoid emitting SurfaceResized(zero) on minimize rust-windowing/winit#4394
• cargo run --example application
• Press Alt+S
• Check the surface size is printed correctly while the window is resized and minimized.
• Report the results in that PR.

(I don't have a Windows machine to test directly.)

Kas could be patched to work around this, but unless it's a significant issue for you I won't bother.

Yeah, since it's only on Windows, it's not necessary, i wanted to go on Linux, problem, i'm using an app that's only on Windows and i didn't find alternatives and bottles or wine is lagging like....a lot on my pc so i switched back. All of this to say, it's not mandatory since i still can create apps, just not minimize them for testing. Thank you again for your efforts, thanks for the links, and have a good day/night.
