Now easy vi-mode possible with fzf

Dreams come true.

I used --bind with bunch of "ignore" values like a beast.
But commit 6c0ca4a has --no-input mode.
Still fresh young init idea, but here's proto script.

Save above script like "fzf-vimode", then pipe any command you like.

$ ls ~ | fzf-vimode

Search mode with "/" key just like vi, and Escape just do its work.
Add (like "h:become(bash -c viS),l:accept,J:page-down,K:page-up,g:first,G:last"),
or edit fzf args with any value you like.

Potential is all your side.

Here's one example called "fzf-metadata" that I actually use.
With this script, I can check metadata entries for specific files in current directory.
(fd and ffprobe required.)

You're right.
And toggleable idea (Per mode --bind values?, more like some options need to be separated cause of input and no-input difference), that must be "dreams come true" @junegunn 👍

Below script is little bit modified @junegunn version of vi-mode.

Then check how vi-mode works.
Just fantastic.

Now, I'm finding the way that accept in input mode on [[ $FZF_KEY = enter ]] condition proceed the actual output.
Cause on my test, it does accept but still in no-input mode with accepted value.
So, I need to do accept again in no-input mode for next task.

But this candidate concept also nice.
So maybe there's the way of changing this accept behavior on input mode. 🤔

• Leave the candidates of keyword in input mode then return to no-input mode. (Current one)
• Accept the value of current cursor position with keyword in input mode then return the value.

accept+execute-silent

accept (or abort) terminates fzf immediately so the next actions won't fire. You should change the order of the actions.

Good to know.
But it seems enter key in input mode still doesn't create /tmp/fzf-pos. 🤔

However, on this candidates concept that /tmp/fzf-pos on fzf-vimode kind of useless atm.
After all, I need to do the final accept in no-input mode to proceed next task.
Then fzf-pwd-vim will do the /tmp/fzf-pos job. 😅

My another accept+execute-silent combo in fzf-pwd-vim does accept and creates the /tmp/fzf-pos even execute-silent is behind of accept.

Here's accept+execute-slient example.

I confirm notify-send command fires.
(With latest master git version of fzf)

Hmm, you're right. The current implementation runs the whole action chain before finally doing accept or abort.

This feels like a bug that I hadn't thought of. Do you think we should fix this? It might affect some user scripts that depend on the current behavior, but it definitely feels a bit off.

I see.
These accept and abort are final gates.
I think the action order is already fair enough.
But like your saying, someone gonna surprised about this fix.
Like old version of me. 😅
