this is one of the easiest to use taggers, but as we can see, it's been ditched 2 years ago. Anyone know of any forks that support Qwen vl3 and other newer models?

ImageIndexer is something similar to taggui, but you'd have to use voidtools everything to search EXIF descriptions of images (description:"group of people").

Instead of writing to EXIF, there's also "Use metadata sidecar instead of writing to image"
