Modal popup hide method doesn't work with timepicker

When we use timepicker on the bootstrap modal popup and make changes in timing, then call hide method of the modal popup.
$("#modalId").modal('hide');
This hide method doesn't close the modal popup. Although the hide method works to hide modal popup which is using timepicker but won't any changes in time.
