Recording Permissions never seems to get detected #57
Comments
You need to close and reopen the app after approving (usually it prompts and asks if you want to restart it). Did you do this step? Or is it still happening even with that? |
Possibly related to #26 |
I did restart rem several times to no effect. I just tried looking for any already-open prompts for that, and didn't see one either. I CMD+h'd all my open applications to look for it. |
This happened to me as well. I think what fixed it was going to settings/privacy and security/screen & system audio recording, then clicking "rem" and hit the '-' to fully remove it. Then click "+" and add it back. I'm guessing it had something to do with installing multiple versions of rem as updates came out, and the app linked to through system settings not being correct. |
I can confirm this. Removing rem from the privacy settings before installing again lets the prompt work correctly. |
Adding sparkle / automatic updates would address this issue |
Removal from the pane & re-adding got me through that step. Now I'm trying to figure out the recording issues |
I'm having a bit of a strange issue.
I have double verified that screen recording permissions for Rem.app are allowed. However, every time I click "start recording" from the menubar, rem just again asks for permissions and brings up the System menu.
I have attempted a reinstall and the compat version.
This is on an M1 macbook pro.
