Can the API support loading loading pyramid tiff from custom tiling server

And can it also show images that are not of an earth but rather human cellular images?
If so, a pointer to the API calls would be great.

Yes, you can display tiles from any custom tiling server. All you need to know is the tiling scheme (width/height of each tile + number of levels + pixel size of each level). http://docs.jquerygeo.com/geomap/tilingScheme.html

As long as a server is producing tiles that you can access by zoomlevel/row/column, the tiles can be of anything and don't have to be maps. Here's a GigaPan image of Olympic Volleyball displayed with jQuery Geo: http://jsbin.com/alarah/2
