Yes, the navigation map is another jQuery Geo map and has all the features of the main map. Just make sure you keep track of each geomap variable.

Yes, the markers can be added as HTML/CSS http://jsbin.com/ribah/1 (easy to customize) or drawn manually onto a graphic service with canvas http://jsbin.com/gopux/1

Yes, CSS labels can have text, image, whatever you want. Each label is a div that you have full control over.
