Gilt may not be an easy application #121

Thanks for reporting this! Would you like to open a PR to remove them from the list? |
I can do that. I've added some considerations below. Let me know of your thoughts. Perhaps it makes sense to notify companies that their application is subject to removal. One option is to email jobs@compaydomain stating that their company's application was flagged for removal from the list. I'd be happy to donate [email protected] for this purpose ([email protected] was not available). An alternative, and perhaps easier to implement, would be to create a list of companies that are flagged for removal. Companies would remain on this list for a probationary period (fixed period of time). A company would then be removed entirely if they don't respond before the end of their probationary period. Could make all of this formal by adding a POLICIES.md file which documents these policies. |
Those are great idea! I like the idea of list of companies flagged for removal. What are your thoughts on this process?

Perhaps introducing some kind of tagging process to differentiate the level of how easy an application is would be better than flat out removing a company. Manually filling out forms of information you already have is much easier than answering a question like: "why do you want to work at this company?" Perhaps rating them by approximate time to complete or tagging them with "Manual entries", "Personal Questions", "Resume drag and drop" is more descriptive than the all encompassing "easy." There are a whole host of companies that many people will not have even heard of, removing their link removes a possible interest entirely. This is a fantastic resource for companies to apply to in general, not just on the basis of their application being easy. |
Gilt asked me to manually fill in information about my education and employment history. See the images below.
