Having AWS logging increased within the codebase of cloudflow would greatly increase our capacity to support multiple users on the coastal sandbox.
Expected Outcomes
Supporting users within the current arrangement of the cloud sandbox can be challenging, as the same user id starts numerous jobs.
Logging, especially with separation within all the various runs of cloudflow, would make management and metrics gathering simpler. It would also allow the users greater capacity in identifying their runs.
Hello! I would be interested to contribute in this project. Are the issue comments the right place to discuss for clarifications or should we better start with an email or some proposal template?
Many thanks for your time in any case.
Hi, I’m Rutuja, and I’m interested in contributing to the "Increased logging for Cloudflow" project as part of GSoC 2025.
I’ve been exploring the project and going through the documentation, and I’m excited about the opportunity to improve the logging functionality to enhance performance and debugging. I have experience working with [mention relevant skills like Python, cloud platforms, or logging tools], which I believe will help me contribute effectively.
Could you please guide me on where I can start or suggest any initial tasks I can work on? I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks!
Hi, I'm Karan, with a strong background in developing robust logging mechanisms for cloud-based applications. My experience includes designing and implementing centralised logging solutions that cater to multi-user environments, ensuring that logs are properly segregated and easily identifiable per user or job run.
I am proficient in Python and have hands-on experience with AWS services, which pretty much aligns well with the technical requirements of this project. Additionally, I have a passion for enhancing developer tools and have contributed to open-source projects, making me excited about the opportunity to work on Cloudflow.
I am very interested in contributing to the enhancement of logging for Cloudflow as part of GSoC 2025. I believe my expertise in log management, particularly in cloud environments, will allow me to make a valuable contribution to the IOOS Cloud Sandbox, helping to improve user support and metrics gathering.
I look forward to the possibility of discussing this project further.
