Just spent the past 3 days learning proxmox, getting things going.
d/led the image, and proxmox has NO IDEA wtf to do with the image.

You folks, like ALL STUPID LINUX MORONS, need to start putting dates / relevancy info on your pages.
I DON'T NEED TO CHASE DOWN 2-5 year old shit info and try to follow it.

Or you could correct your attitude in a meaningful and constructive way. Try looking in the community forms, linked at the bottom of the page you are referring to where a simple search would have led you to https://community.home-assistant.io/t/installing-home-assistant-os-using-proxmox-8/201835

So the real question would be, are you up for the challenge to increase the usability for future Proxmox users? Mind that (see below) there are plenty of ways to set it up (eventually), which makes describing 'all' possibilities a nice challenge!

Proxmox will understand the image - a qcow2 image is just a disk file, not a complete package, and is one of the native formats supported by Proxmox. You should upload it in the storage of your setup (which is very, very dependent on what you decided to use - Proxmox, like many virtualisations - is a powerful and extensive platform, so it's not a one-site-fits-all). Basically HA provides you with the disk image, configure your CPU/RAM/Network around it and it should work.
