For some reason, the Mac app doesn't have a Companion app section in the Settings page, so the docs on how to create iOS Actions are not helpful for the Mac OS version. I only found how to do that by finding and reading this issue: home-assistant/iOS#970

What I would like is to add to the docs page that the Mac app has these controls in the Application menu (in the left side of the status bar)
