Currently files are embedded with the PDF /F flag (option filespec) only. The /UF flag (option ucfilespec) is not produced independent of the PDF version.
This is not recommended by the PDF spec p. 110. When the PDF is >=1.7 the /UF value should be set.
This matters because the value is mandatory for PDF/A. Since, as far as I know the value does not harm on lower version PDFs, one could set it automatically.
For the time being you can set the value manually for each file. But defaults should be smart, shouldn't they?
