Summary

as in subject - glic version is too old, which imho should not be - debian 12 is still stable version, meant for production

Reproduction Steps

I tried this:

  1. hx using appimage on debian 12

I expected this to happen:

should run editor

Instead, this happened:

get error:

/tmp/.mount_hxWuQse6/usr/bin/hx: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libm.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.38' not found (required by /tmp/.mount_hxWuQse6/usr/bin/hx)
/tmp/.mount_hxWuQse6/usr/bin/hx: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.39' not found (required by /tmp/.mount_hxWuQse6/usr/bin/hx)

Helix log

~/.cache/helix/helix.log
cannot provide log because helix is not starting

currently I use flatpak for newest helix on debian 12 - but using it that way is a little bit more complicated (configs!), and much, much heavier - flatpak downloads 600MB of package to run helix, while appimage is 25MB
